From our restaurant you can view the bird tables nearby. See bullfinch, siskin, greenfinch, wagtail, great tit, coal tit, blue tit, long-tailed tit, dunnock and cross-bill around the hotel.
Watch raptors like peregrine falcon, hen harrier, kestrel and buzzard hunting nearby. Loch Shin, at the bottom of the hotel grounds, offers a chance to see ospreys, black and red-throated divers, cormorants and many other water fowl.
Further afield there is the Forsinard Nature Reserve which lies at the heart of the internationally known Flow Country and where you can see birds including golden plovers, dunlins and merlins breeding.
The steep coastal cliffs at Faraid Head, Cape Wrath and Handa Island’s Torridonian cliffs are home to colonies of seabirds – puffins, great skuas, guillemots, kittiwakes, razorbills, fulmars and much more.
